Recipe for beauty


We spend a huge percentage of our earnings on personal care, beauty products and maintenance regimes (parlours, spa and beauty treatments). But little do we realize that this could be avoided, if not avoided but reduced to many folds if we feed our body with right type of food and maintaining a healthy lifestyle which in turn will not only improve our outside appearance but will also boost our immune system and will make us healthy, young and glowing from inside out. Research has shown that with constant effort to add few of the food groups in our daily diet and regimens we can have beautiful ever glowing healthy skin and body. You are going to age for sure but delaying ageing and ageing beautifully is important. We all are aware that in general eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, protein, and whole grains will result in healthier skin, but we will look into more specific food types that give us nutrients and compounds that are particularly helpful:

Green Tea

Organic Green Tea:

All teas are rich in skin-loving antioxidants, but anti-inflammatory substances called catechins, in green tea are thought to be especially beneficial. Green tea is high in antioxidants that reduce inflammation and protect cell membranes. It reduces the damage of sunburns and overexposure to ultraviolet light, which reduces the risk of skin cancer. Drinking one or more cups of green tea per day reduces your risk to develop skin cancer as compared to non-green-tea drinkers. Green tea is also rich in polyphenols – compounds that eliminate cancer-causing free radicals. The polyphenols found in green tea helps with anti-aging by reactivating dying skin cells. Green tea is also high in vitamins C, D, and K, as well as riboflavin, zinc, calcium, magnesium and iron. Green tea may be helpful for warding off extra kilos and the visible signs of aging. Full of antioxidants and helpful for reducing redness, rinsing your face in cool green tea is a great way to gently soothe skin.

Olive oil:

Considering the supposed benefits of fat-free diets, it turns out that we need essential fatty acids for good health as well as for more elastic and supple skin. Extra-virgin organic olive oil is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats. “Good” fats strengthen our cell membranes, helping our skin to look nourished and radiant. This kitchen staple is great for hydrating hair and smooth dry spots on skin.

Omega-3 food group:

The omega-3 oils in walnuts are vitally important for flexible, plump, younger-looking skin. Flaxseed can erase spots and iron out fine lines. Take two grams (half a teaspoon) or omega-3 every day for six weeks experienced significantly less irritation and redness, along with better-hydrated skin. Do not heat it; try it in salad dressings or sprinkle it on oatmeal or veggies. Salmon (or tuna, trout, sardines, mackerel and herring) helps keep cell membranes healthy by warding out harmful substances and allowing nutrients to enter cells and exit with waste products. Berries are powerful antioxidants. Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, acai berries–they’re all delicious, and they give our complexions a healthy boost with phytochemicals that protect skin cells. Another antioxidant superstar, these guys are also great for evening out skin tone.

Strawberries:

A cup of strawberries boosts the production of collagen fibers that help keep skin smooth and firm. The C antioxidant helps in reducing fine lines of the skin. Ellagic acid present in strawberries protects the elastic fibers that prevent the skin from sagging.

Dark leafy greens:

The vitamin A found in dark leafy greens like kale and spinach are great for clearing up acne and promoting skin repair. Vitamin-rich veggie alternatives include carrots and broccoli. Romaine lettuce Just six of these leaves will provide more than 100% of your daily value (DV) of vitamin A. This revitalizes your skin by increasing cell turnover. The potassium present in them improves circulation and gives the skin a refreshing nutrient and oxygen boost. It also contains 45% of the DV of vitamin K, which activates a protein that supports vascular health and makes bulging veins less likely.

Tomatoes:

This little red food prevents the skin. Five tablespoons of tomato paste daily for just three months can protect you against sunburn. The skin also had more collagen which prevents sagging. The antioxidant food also helped lessen lines and furrows. Tomatoes also reduce your chances of heart disease.

Carrots are high in vitamin A. They are great for your eyes and help clear up breakouts. It prevent the overproduction of cells in the skin’s outer layer in turn protects clogging of pores. Vitamin A also reduces the development of skin-cancer cells. A cup of baby carrots a day and keep you healthy.

Soya:

Soya helps diminish fine wrinkles and improve skin firmness due to the soy isoflavone known as aglycone. Soya may reduce your risk of developing endometrial and ovarian cancers, diabetes, and prevent a recurrence of breast cancer.

Dark Chocolate:

Flavonol, the antioxidant in dark chocolate, reduces roughness in the skin and protect against sun damage. Women who drank cocoa had better skin texture and stronger resistance to UV rays.

Almonds:

Boost your vitamin E levels by eating a handful of almonds every day. Vitamin E is one of the most important antioxidants for your skin. It  helps in moisturizing your skin. It is very good for the people who are prone to dryness.

Water:

Drinking enough WATER is an all-important key to beautiful skin, since even mild dehydration can result in visible aging and dryness. Drinking alcohol, caffeine, and sodas can be dehydrating, so be sure to get plenty of pure water for healthier skin–not to mention healthier kidneys! Naturally, drinking plenty of water will help keep your skin hydrated, young, and healthy looking. Water content in other beverages doesn’t count – your water intake must be from pure, clean water to rejuvenate skin cells. Water not only hydrates cells, it helps get rid of toxins and deliver nutrients in. When the body is properly hydrated, it sweats efficiently, and that helps keep the skin clean and clear.
