I am sure you are already following a healthy diet and lifestyle for months from now till your wedding. But some food items have a tendency to give a bloating effect which gives the impression that the body is a little swollen around the seams. A good rule is to avoid these food items at least two weeks from the date to your wedding.


They contain sugar not digestible by the body. When it breaks down it produces a gas. To keep gas levels down before the big day, choose a different protein sources .Say a big NO to beans.

Artificial Sweetener

It’s a myth that sugar free products are actually sugar free. Sugar alcohol found in diet soda, sugar-free candy, and artificial sweeteners are hard to digest and lead to bloating and discomfort. Before your wedding day cut back on sweet you’ll find yourself feeling lighter and more energized.

Junk Food

Weddings might give you cold feet and they could be stressful. This is the time you might fall for some comfort eating. A box of your favourite cookies or chocolate, large pizza, jumbo fries, a side of doughnuts are going to give you a momentary distraction from the pressure. Fatty foods curbs down your digestion you’ll be left feeling your marriage couture a little tighter around your waist once the high is gone.


It’s a big red signal showing danger as you will feel puffy the next morning. From gases to weakening of the digestive system there are several reasons you should say no to alcohol. You would feel like a swollen gas balloon in your “the day” dress. Cut out alcohol during the two weeks leading up to the big day.

Not all Vegetables are helpful

Vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli are not advisable if you are aiming for a flat belly. These veggies contain sugar that result in a bloated belly. Eat them cooked rather than raw; this will help to break down the gas-producing sugar.

Salty Foods

An entire bag of chips, Pickled sandwich… oh!!! No no no.  Salty foods are a definite no; on the days leading up to your wedding.

Carbonated Beverages

Keep that glass of Soda, sparkling water, champagne down. Those bubbles are bubbling up your body. By releasing all that carbon dioxide, you’re left feeling gassy and bloated all at once.


Dairy products generally lead to bloating, gas, and cramps. So to be on safer side eliminate dairy products a week or two before the wedding. The one exception to this rule is having a small serving of plain yogurt. Yogurt actually help the body digest more efficiently.

Chewing Gum

You need a fresh-breath fix have a mint instead of a piece of gum. Many of the gums contain sugars.


Gluten may not affect everyone in negative way but it is another type of food known to cause bloating, cramps, and gas in many people. To be on the safe side don’t consume it for one to two weeks before the wedding.
